Inspired by the story by Hans Christian Andersen The ugly duckling, this painting speaks of the mandate of beauty as a form of oppression towards women. The duality swan / ugly duckling is a duality that we drag all women throughout life. This painting reinvindicates the right of all women to life without having to face the patriarchal gaze that judges them and to comply with beauty by gender mandate. This painting is part of the exhibition "Less is more".
